Nickel-chromium white cast iron offers excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance. It has a high hardness, typically around 600 BHN (Brinell Hardness Number). However, due to its nickel content, its impact toughness can be improved through heat treatment to form a martensitic matrix. This type of cast iron exhibits excellent wear resistance after casting and heat treatment, and is commonly used for manufacturing wear-resistant components such as rolls, grinding balls and liners for ball mills. Despite its high hardness, its toughness can be enhanced through appropriate heat treatment to meet the strength and plasticity requirements of workpieces.
Specific material grades include: Cr26, Cr15Mo2, Ni-Hard1 through Ni-Hard4, among others.
